The American Kennel Club (AKC) Fetch test is a noncompetitive, pass-fail test that evaluates a dog's ability to retrieve a ball or bumper. The test is open to all breeds and is designed to provide both mental and physical exercise for dogs and their handlers. The test has four levels: Novice (FTN), Intermediate (FTI), Advanced (FTA), and Retriever (FTR). To participate, dogs must be at least six months old and have an AKC, PAL, or AKC Canine Partners registration. To earn a title, dogs must pass each level twice under the supervision of two different AKC Fetch judges. |
