Annette Hammortree owns Hammortree Financial Services and has been providing comprehensive financial planning services for over 37 years in the Chicagoland area and around the country. Annette specializes in retirement planning and special needs planning. She has been featured in numerous local and national articles as well as educational platforms for her expertise in both areas. Her passion for serving the special needs planning community arose after having her son, Shane. Shane was born 16 weeks premature and spent 6 months in the NICU. As a result, he has Cerebral Palsy, Low Vision, Hydrocephalus, and Developmental Delays and is a cancer survivor.

A special needs family member, she has been featured in numerous local and national articles.

Rick joined Principal Life Insurance Company in December 1998 as the Disability Income Regional Vice President (DI RVP). On January 1, 2024, Rick became a Regional Director – Business Solutions.


Rick has more than 43 years of experience in the insurance industry. Currently, Rick is serving NAIFA as a member of the NAIFA Steering Committee for the NAIFA Financial Security Alliance representing the Disability Income Insurance Industry.

Diane Boyle

Boyle is an expert NAIFA spokesman on legislative issues with national and trade media outlets. She is a frequent contributor to many NAIFA publications and internet forums. She also represents NAIFA on various industry coalitions and panels. Diane Boyle is a regular speaker during NAIFA’s signature events.


Boyle joined the NAIFA family in April of 1991. Before expanding health and workplace benefit representation to all NAIFA members in 2010, she served as the executive vice president for the Association of Health Insurance Advisors, the former health conference of NAIFA. She was instrumental in developing the association’s comprehensive legislative program. Boyle developed the State Legislation Association Planning Process and the award-winning Rx for Health Care Lobbying Kit.
