ASSE 6005/6010/6020/6040 Medical Gas Systems Generalist/Installer/Inspector/Maintenance Training

Join us at Hampton Inn & Suites, Chapel Hill/Durham in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, for medical gas systems training. These courses provide the technical knowledge required for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and generalizing medical gas and vacuum systems.

We take pride in offering all-inclusive, in-person classes that meet at our public location or directly to your office/shop. Course materials, printed code books, written exam(s), and brazing practicals are offered in real time during the week of class. You don't need to find separate testing sources, credentialing agencies, or additional fees. Our instructor, Richard Miller, has more than 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry; this experience allows for immediate interaction between student(s) and instructor. Providing real-time discussions, clarifications, and feedback, creating an engaging and dynamic learning environment.


Medical gas installer candidates must have at least four (4) years of documented practical experience in plumbing or mechanical piping systems as a pre-requisite. This concentrated course exposes all facets of the NFPA 99 Medical Gas & Vacuum standard, including oral, written, and practical instruction.


Medical gas inspector candidates must be employed by a governmental unit as a plumbing and/or mechanical inspector or as an administrator of such inspectors, regularly involved in the design, inspection, or verification of medical gas systems, or an ASSE 6010 medical gas systems installer. Candidates must have at least two (2) years of documented practical experience.


Medical gas maintenance candidates must be employed or contracted by a healthcare facility or actively working with medical gas systems. Candidates must have one (1) year minimum experience in medical gas and vacuum systems maintenance. This credential is designed for those who will perform onsite maintenance of medical gas systems.


Medical gas generalist is open to anyone interested in medical gas and vacuum systems and equipment. This 24-hour instruction block provides general knowledge of medical gas and vacuum systems for those beginning their medical gas pipeline career or needing general knowledge.
