The Michigan Sheriffs' Association, The Department of Natural Resources, and the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office are proud to announce the 2025 Marine Training Academy for new marine officers. The Academy will be held April 21 - April 25, 2025 at the Ottawa County DHS Building:

Registration fee per attendee: $200
- This includes all materials, snacks, and lunches. Dinner will be provided Monday - Wednesday. This does NOT include housing for the week. Once registration is complete payment for registration fees should be mailed to:

Please note: Our registration system requires that each attendee have their own, unique email address. This does not have to be an agency email address, so it can be a personal email. Updates to the agenda and equipment list will be sent to these email addresses.

- Rooms have been set aside from April 21 – April 25, 2025 at a rate of $85.00 per room with up to four students sharing a room. This includes a breakfast at the motel. If you need a room for the night of the April 26, 2025 please let them know and the rate may be higher. This cost is tax exempt if you provide Holiday Inn with a copy of your department’s tax exemption. Room reservations must be made by March 29, 2025, to assure a room and are to be made under the State Marine Academy 2025 group reservation.
Reimbursement for all expenses shall be in accordance with the rules and regulations of the State of Michigan, Department of Natural Resources Marine Safety Program. |
