Our next Technical Services Interest Group meeting

will take place on Thursday, December 3rd, at 2:00 pm.

--------------------------------

Let's take an opportunity to connect with other technical services and metadata staff and discuss tips, tricks, and current developments in the field. We will take a deeper dive with AI tools such as Alma Metadata Assistant, CatalogGPT, and more.

Interest Group Facilitator: Heather B. Fach

Heather B. Fach, MSIS has worked in libraries since 2008; since 2022 she has served as the Cataloging and Metadata Librarian at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida. She received her library degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a concentration in metadata. Among her areas of interest are greater inclusivity and accessibility in metadata along with user experience (UX) and applications of artificial intelligence. She regularly gives presentations about disability advocacy as part of her ongoing “Tech Talk” series, and has presented at regional and national conferences. When she’s not at work, you might catch her browsing at the local thrift store, hunting for shells on the beach, or attending a Star Wars fan convention.

These projects were funded either under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services or the Library Cooperative Grant program. Florida’s LSTA and LCG programs are administered by the Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services.

For FY2025-26, the total state and federal budgets for NEFLIN's programs are $710,000. 30% of the total costs (210,000) are supported by federal funds, and 70% of this program ($500,000) is supported by state funds.
