| Tricia Borah, who sensed a revival in her faith while attending a Christ Renews His Parish retreat weekend in 2010, is a member of St. Brigid Parish.
After her retreat, Tricia felt called to join a mission team from her parish to travel to Mustard Seed Communities in Nicaragua, where she spent a week serving and getting to know the children, teens, and adult residents with physical disabilities. Tricia lives in Johns Creek with her husband of almost 30 years, Todd, where they raised their children Marissa and Jake. She was born and grew up a cradle Catholic in a Northern Kentucky suburb of Cincinnati, the oldest of three children. She moved to the Atlanta area in 1994, and Tricia and her family have been parishioners at St. Brigid since 1999.
While her Catholic faith has always been an important part of her identity, Tricia encountered the Lord in a profound way on her mission trip, and her eyes were opened to the unique experiences of individuals with disabilities. Once back home she searched for ways to be involved with the disabilities community at the local level.
Tricia will share how the Holy Spirit has moved in her life in the years since that first trip to Mustard Seed Communities, eventually leading her to her current role as coordinator of a ministry for teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at St. Brigid. She has wondered many times how she got where she is today. She will reflect on her journey, led by the Holy Spirit, a journey where she has come to expect the unexpected as the Lord reveals Himself to her in many ways through the amazing individuals she works with. |
