I have a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, special education and deaf education. I have two master’s degrees: one in reading education and one in adult education and training. I served as a teacher, campus administrator and special education coordinator in Texas. I retired from education in 2016. I worked in a library in Texas before moving to Florida. I have worked as a programmer at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library since June 2022. I was recognized by NEFLIN as Member of the Year for 2024.
These projects were funded either under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act from the Institute of Museum and Library Services or the Library Cooperative Grant program. Florida’s LSTA and LCG programs are administered by the Department of State’s Division of Library and Information Services.
For FY2025-26, the total state and federal budgets for NEFLIN's programs are $710,000. 30% of the total costs (210,000) are supported by federal funds, and 70% of this program ($500,000) is supported by state funds.
