Bluegrass & Gee's Bend 2024

One of our most popular workshops is back with amazing bluegrass music classes and traditional crafts including Gee's Bend quilting. This four-day workshop provides a truly immersive experience with a fun and enthusiastic community of musicians and artists!

You should select one class per person you register. Make sure to select lodging and meals for each person (listed below the classes). Total pricing is based on your lodging, and tuition selection:

These workshops are made possible in part by a grant from Alabama State Council on the Arts.

Lodging Choices: $80.00-$550.00.

Lodging for this event will be in Bethany Village. Participants will have the option to stay in a Bethany Lodge room or a dorm-style cabin. Our lodge rooms each have two queen beds and a private bath. Some of these private rooms open into a common living space (shared by other students staying in the lodge) with refrigerator, coffee maker, stove, microwave, and fireplace, with additional rooms on the lower level with entry from the outside. You may book a private lodge room for one or share a room with your spouse, partner, or friend. Cabins are dormitory style, each having 24 twin beds and community bathrooms with private showers and stalls. Student are asked to bring their own bedding for cabin beds. Pricing depends on your choice of lodging. All lodging options include refreshments on opening night and nine meals throughout the weekend starting with Thursday dinner through Sunday lunch.

All electronic Alabama Folk School payments are processed through PayPal. You may use a credit card to pay this way without making a Paypal account. If you would like to pay by check please fill out the registration information then email Jordan Hughes at afsregistrar@campmcdowell.org so that we can manually complete your registration. 


Please note our refund policy: Cancellations received prior to 60 days before the event will receive a full refund on lodging, meals, and tuition. Cancellations received less than 60 days prior to the start of the event will receive refunded lodging, meals, and tuition but a $100 cancellation fee will be retained. Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to the start of the event will receive refunded lodging and meals, but no tuition will be refunded and a $100 cancellation fee will be retained. No tuition, lodging, or meals will be refunded after the event begins. Cancellation fees apply, regardless of the reason for canceling
