Course Information

This 3-day course and exam is open to interested parties who meet the prerequisites (see Tree Risk Assessment Qualification Program Guide) and is limited to 20 arborists (first-come/first-served). The qualification consists of a 2-day educational course followed by a 1/2 day assessment that includes both a written and field component. It is required that you attend the course and successfully complete the assessment in order to receive this qualification.

Registration closes on October 13, 2026 or when class is filled. All payments are due at the time of registration. Cancellation/refund requests must be submitted by October 13, 2026. All applications will be reviewed for approval. Your registration will be finalized via email. NO REFUND OR TRANSFER WILL BE GRANTED AFTER October 13, 2026.

3. SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION/CONFIRM YOUR REGISTRATION with ISA - If you hold an ISA Credential, you will simply be confirming the course that you are attending. If you need to submit an application for perquisite approval, you will be prompted to submit an application. If you are an ISA member and/or credential holder or if you have purchased any ISA products in the past, you have an online account with ISA. Simply log in at credentialing.isa-arbor.com. What to bring to class:

• Your government-issued photo ID
• Hard hat and high-visibility vest or shirt (Needed on Day 2)
• Rain gear, including large zip-lock bag
• Digital course information will be emailed to you no later than October 13, 2026
• You will be provided with a hard copy of the TRAQ Manual and the official TRAQ clipboard when you arrive to the class

Please dress for your comfort level indoors and outdoors; we cannot always control the room temperature to suit everyone. Come prepared to spend part of the day outdoors.

Who Is Eligible to Apply for the ISA TRAQ Program? ISA recognizes a variety of credentials and designations that fulfill the eligibility requirement to enroll in an ISA TRAQ program. ISA credential holders with the following credentials are readily eligible in ISA’s system and are ready to enroll for a program.

• ISA Certified Arborist®
• ISA Board Certified Master Arborist®
• ISA Certified Urban Forest Professional
• ISA Certified Arborist Utility Specialist®
• ISA Certified Tree Climber®

A complete listing of recognized credentials can be viewed in the TRAQ Prerequisite Eligibility Catalogue. If you have one of the credentials listed or another credential that meets the requirements for the program, your application for eligibility must be reviewed and approved by ISA prior to enrollment deadlines for an ISA TRAQ program. Here is a quick tutorial on how to submit and application. If you need to submit an application to become eligible, application submission fees will apply. Candidates who are members of ISA receive a standard 20% discount. The application fee is $40 USD for ISA members and $50 USD for all others. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received, overall review timelines may vary depending on the documentation provided by the applicant. We recommend that applicants submit their application with all required information and documentation as early as possible.
