This 3.5-acre property was mostly grass & a mix of native & non-native gardens. Instead of chemicals, silage tarps have been used to kill large areas of grass & weeds. Initial plantings include native trees & shrubs & a large rain garden. A multi-year project is underway to restore a prairie ecosystem on one acre of land. The owners plan to include vegetable & fruit gardens with native trees, shrubs, & wildflowers. In 2023, the Natural Land Institute approved the property for Conservation Home certification.
