Small Animal Disaster and Emergency Pet Friendly Sheltering - AWARENESS

Palm Beach County Emergency Management and the Florida State Animal Response Coalition are partnering to provide training on how to respond to local, state and national disasters, save animals, and operate temporary emergency shelters.

When disaster strikes, our team of trained volunteer responders will be there to shelter and protect Florida's companion animals.

This Awareness Level (Level 1) class will give you the knowledge, expertise and practical experience you need to work in an emergency animal shelter and become a professional disaster responder with FL SARC. The Awareness Level Small Animal Emergency Sheltering class is certified by the Florida Department of Emergency Management and is required by FL SARC to respond in Florida to help companion animals during a disaster.

Thanks to a grant from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, registration is FREE!!

FLSARC is the ONLY FEMA approved program teaching volunteers how to build and operate a temporary emergency animal shelter in response to natural disasters, emergencies, and large cruelty cases.

Through our partnerships and trainings, we can provide ready-to-deploy volunteers across the state and beyond to be ready when disasters strike.
