Meet Your Instructor: David Hoare
David Hoare has been a theatre-techie since high school, where he got sucked into backstage work as part of the Claude Watson arts program in Toronto. He trained at the National Theatre School in technical design, and then spent several years working around the GTA and abroad as a technician, designer, and technical director. After migrating to teaching communications technology, David and his family moved to Cobourg in 2002, where they immediately got involved with the Northumberland Players. According to the Northumberland Player's Archive, David has been involved in 13 shows onstage, and 70 (that can’t be right, can it?!?) behind the scenes, including designing lights for many of the major musicals. He is passionate about the art of lighting, and loves sharing that magic with an audience, and with his students whenever possible. He is excited about bringing his skills to share with the Belleville Theatre Guild!
