Shane is Chair of Spilman Thomas & Battle's Intellectual Property Practice Group. Based in Spilman's Pittsburgh office, he practices in the areas of corporate law, patent law, and intellectual property law. His work includes advising on data privacy issues, including compliance with HIPAA/HITECH, FERPA, GDPR, CCPA, and CPRA, along with other institutional concerns, such as confidentiality, export control, risk management, and conflict of interest. He earned both his bachelor's and law degrees at the University of Pittsburgh.
