Alan Kaplinsky

Ballard Spahr | Senior Counsel

Alan is the former longtime Practice Leader of Ballard Spahr's Consumer Financial Services Group. He devotes his practice to counseling financial institutions on bank regulatory and transactional matters, particularly consumer financial services law, and defending financial institutions that have been sued by consumers and by government enforcement agencies.

Alan is heavily involved in counseling and representing clients in matters involving the CFPB. He was instrumental in launching a blog, Consumer Finance Monitor, devoted to consumer financial services activities.

Ginger Devine, CRCM, CERP

Citizens First Bank | SVP Chief Risk Officer

Ginger's banking career began in 1999 and she has served as a teller, customer service representative, internal auditor, deposit operations manager, BSA Officer, Compliance and CRA Officer. She is a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) and Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CERP), and is a frequent presenter at banking association conferences.

Ginger's most important role is that of an advisor – building and developing relationships to ensure a successful program is cultivated. 

Jeremy Hopwood

5ironCyber | CEO

Jeremy held the position of CISO at Pinnacle Financial Partners (NASDAQ: PNFP) for 10 years, from 2014 to 2023. During that time, he led cybersecurity operations as the bank expanded from $7B in assets to $50B+, becoming a top 50 bank in the United States. As CEO at 5ironCyber, Jeremy launched the organization into the financial industry and has led expansion into additional industries (insurance and healthcare). He has been a tech pioneer responsible for projects at BellSouth, Morgan Stanley, Capital One, Paine Webber, Deutch Bank, SunTrust, Freddie Mac, Chase, and Lehman Brothers.

Kristen Stogniew, Esq., CFE

Kristen is a banking extraordinaire! She has more than 25 years of experience as a trusted advisor on legal, operational, and compliance concerns facing the financial services industry. Kristen served as adjunct faculty and taught the BSA/AML class for FSU College of Law's Juris Masters program. She teaches Compliance & Regulatory Environment, and Social Media classes for the Florida School of Banking at the University of Florida, and joins the faculty of the Graduate School of Banking at LSU starting in 2022. She provides one-on-one mentoring and customized training and facilitates various user groups and often speaks at industry and state banking association schools and conferences.

Josh Strickland, CPA

Saltmarsh | Shareholder

Josh is an internal audit and loan review wizard. He has been with Saltmarsh since 2010 and has focused extensively on serving banks and credit unions. He also consults with financial institution clients on accounting and financial reporting issues, operation issues, mergers and acquisitions and strategic planning.

Josh leads Saltmarsh's CFO Roundtables which are small group discussion for CFOs and bank leadership based in Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee that cover timely topics and subjects.

Paul Allen, CPA, CGMA

Saltmarsh | Director

As a banking guru, Paul frequently advises on credit risk, liquidity and succession planning. Over the years, he has served in various senior management roles with several financial institutions, including Chief Financial Officer. Paul has extensive experience advising clients on accounting and financial reporting matters, enterprise risk management, asset liability management, mergers and acquisitions and strategic planning. He has served on several boards and on the Faculty of the FBA Florida School of Banking at the University of Florida, the Iowa School of Banking, the TBA Southeastern School of Banking at Belmont University, the NCBA School of Banking at UNC-Chapel Hill and the Graduate School of Banking at LSU. 

Jason Keith, CIA, CISA

Saltmarsh | Senior Tech. Risk Consulting Manager

Jason is the go-to expert when it comes to highly regulated industries and consulting on security assessments, vulnerability testing, and other information security compliance services. He has over 20 years of professional experience and has held several technology-focused leadership roles with previous organizations, including Vice President of Risk, Chief Information Officer and Chief Operations Officer. He also has a strong operational background from past experience serving as a Bank Director, Credit Administrator, Compliance Officer and Financial Advisor.

BankTalk 2024 has been submitted to ABA Professional Certifications for CE credit review and is pending approval. Once we receive notification of the credit approval, we will notify attendees.
