| Already paddled a bit and ready for the next step? Join Willamette Riverkeeper and our professional paddling partners at eNRG Kayaking for Paddling 102, a moving water class designed to help you build confidence and control on flowing river sections. This free 5-hour workshop is set in Oregon City near Willamette Falls. You’ll gain hands-on instruction in basic river navigation, current reading, and intermediate boat handling techniques.
You’ll Learn:
- How to safely navigate moving water (Class I/I+)
- Ferrying, eddy turns, and peel-outs
- Paddling strategies for control in current
- Group communication and river safety
- River stewardship practices in action
This is where flatwater meets flow — and where your paddling skills really come alive! All gear is provided, including boats (choice of either canoe or kayak), paddles, and PFDs. Please dress for the weather, and bring your lunch, water, sunscreen, and an adventurous mindset!
– Ages 14+ welcome (must be comfortable in water) – Some previous paddling experience required (participation in the Paddling 101 class would suffice!) – Pre-registration is required, and space is limited – don’t miss your spot!
