Did you know Oregon State Parks cares for over 7,000 acres along the banks of the Willamette River? Now’s your chance to experience one of the Willamette Valley’s best-kept secrets—from the water! Join us for a guided paddle tour led by experienced Park Rangers who will bring the river to life with stories of its rich history, thriving wildlife, and the behind-the-scenes work that helps keep this natural treasure both wild and welcoming. Whether you're a seasoned paddler or just looking for a new way to enjoy Oregon’s outdoors, this is your invitation to connect with the heart of the valley—one paddle stroke at a time.
EVENT DETAILS: WHEN: Saturday, September 27, 2025 | 9:30 AM – approximately 3:00 PM WHERE: We will launch at Michael’s Landing (near downtown Corvallis) and paddle ~8 river miles to Hyak Park in Albany. Check-in begins at 9:30 AM at Michael’s Landing.
Participants of all ages are welcome! Willamette Riverkeeper and Oregon State Parks will provide canoes, paddles, and PFDs (personal flotation devices) at no charge, or you’re welcome to bring your own kayak, canoe, or SUP. Each provided canoe comes equipped with 2 paddles, 2 PFDs, and 2 whistles. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Plan to be on the river for approximately 4–5 hours, with time for a mid-paddle break. Be sure to dress for the weather and bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, a whistle (as required by the U.S. Coast Guard), water, snacks, and lunch. Restrooms will be available at Michael’s Landing at the start of the event.
Shuttle Service: A free shuttle will be provided to return paddlers and boats from Hyak Park back to Michael’s Landing after the paddle. Participants may also arrange their own shuttle, but please arrive at Michael’s Landing by 9:30 AM for check-in and the safety briefing. QUESTIONS?
