What is Autism for School Staff - Free Online Workshop

Monday 3rd February 2025 - 4pm - 5pm

This free taster online workshop introduces school staff to the characteristics of autism and practical strategies for supporting students with autism in mainstream settings. Participants will gain an understanding of the challenges autistic students face, explore the "triad of differences," and learn how to implement effective communication, social interaction and flexibility strategies to promote inclusion and learning.

  1. To understand the core differences associated with autism, including challenges in communication, social interaction and flexibility of thinking and behaviour.
  2. To identify practical strategies to support students with autism in mainstream classrooms, focusing on communication, sensory needs and structured learning approaches.
