2026 Great Willamette Cleanup – Albany: Bowman Park (On Land)

Event Basics: Join Willamette Riverkeeper and Albany Adopt-a-Park for an on-land trash cleanup at Bowman Park in Albany! This is a popular recreational and boating spot, and it needs some focused cleanup work after a long and busy summer. If our group has time, we will move on from Bowman Park to collect trash from some of the areas along the Dave Clark Trail on the south bank of the river.

After the cleanup, we hope that you'll join us for a volunteer appreciation party at 1:30pm in Corvallis (location TBD), featuring drinks, light food, and a free raffle for all volunteers.

When & Where: Saturday, October 10th, 2026 | 10:00am - 12:30pm

Please meet on the grassy lawn adjacent to the boat ramp at Bowman Park (see map below for specific location). We'll have trained cleanup leaders on site to check volunteers in, distribute cleanup supplies, and provide a group safety briefing.

What to Bring:

• Sturdy, closed-toe shoes that you are comfortable getting dirty and wet.
• Sunscreen, drinking water, and layers that are appropriate for the weather.

Additional Details:

• Willamette Riverkeeper and our partners will provide all necessary cleanup equipment and PPE for this event (trash bags, gloves, grabbers, etc).
• No previous experience is necessary to volunteer for this event – we will conduct a thorough safety briefing and cleanup training at the start of the day.
• Children ages 10+ are welcome to participate in this event if accompanied by a responsible parent or guardian.
