World Technology Partner’s mission is to promote technology around the world through development of informational, programming and educational resources. Our efforts are to develop new strategies to highlight the increasing research, collaboration and opportunities throughout the world for future generations. The organization offers a web site focusing on world-wide research and frequent web sessions, World Tech Chats on the Google platform.


In early June, we will hosting our second Annual Green Sustainability Showcase, which similar to this event supports doctorate, graduate or undergraduate students in their research and scholarly activities. In addition to the sustainability arena, we will be focusing on environmental engineering, civil engineering. Special consideration is also being given this year to efforts in “organic architecture” following up on the work of Frank Lloyd Wright, who was experimenting with the concept approximately 100 years ago.


In the fall, we will be holding our third Annual Competition which will award $1000 honorariums. We hope you can help us publicize and perhaps even participate in these efforts.

 

This year's winners include:


First Place: Christopher DeLuca, and Jullia McGregor, Master's Candidates, Western University, London, Ontario, Canada - Seeds for Change: Harnessing the Purification Power of Moringa Seeds to Improve Water Quality in the Gweri Sub-county of Uganda


Second Place: Abby Blocker, PhD Candidate, University of Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa - User-centered design of a virtual clinic system for primary healthcare in remote, rural, and underserved areas.


Third Place: Sara Emad, 5th Year Medical Student, Helwan University, Cairo, Egypt NILE addresses Egypt's diabetes epidemic through lifestyle modification and optimized management. 


Director's Discretionary Award: Tan Fuen Ann, Masters Candidate, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Malaysia - Assessing the cardioprotective potential of stingless bee honey from Sabah through in vitro evaluation.

World Tech Chat - Winners of the Public Health Competiton discuss Challenges & Opportunities

Join us to meet, hear and congratulate our first World Tech Partners winners of the annual Public Health Competition, focusing on seeking solutions, techniques, and concepts at every stage of innovation in public health. In conjunction with World Health Day on April 7, this chat with graduate and Ph.D. candidates will focus on solutions with presenters from North America, the Mid-East, Africa and the Pacific Rim.
