Sourdough Discard Made Delicious - March 12, 2026 @ My New Favorite Thing in Canterbury Village

Pancakes & Banana Bread with Ancient Grains

Learn what sourdough discard is — and how to turn it into simple, nourishing baked goods you’ll actually make at home.

In this hands-on class, you’ll make sourdough discard pancake batter using all provided ingredients to take home and cook fresh for breakfast the next morning. You’ll also learn how to make sourdough discard banana bread and leave with a pre-measured dry mix — just add the wet ingredients and bake at home.

Both recipes feature Rouge de Bordeaux, an ancient grain regeneratively-grown by Guardian Grains. It is known for better digestibility and rich flavor. These recipes also feature coconut sugar, real butter and coconut oil instead of inflammatory refined sugar and seed oils.
