Service Delivery: Discussion to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and find solutions

This hybrid session is an in-depth discussion into our system’s Service Delivery model, where stakeholders from all critical touchpoints will tackle topics on common barriers while focusing on innovative solutions and ideas to move Service Delivery in a positive direction.

Learning Objectives:

·      Individual / Job Seeker Objective: To examine the processes and services that led to getting your job

·      Family Objective: To examine the overall process taken after deciding to seek employment, as well as the frustrations and concerns encountered during the job search process.

·      SSA Objective: To evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the referral and communication process within the scope of an SSA, identifying the aspects that functioned well

·      OOD Objective: To identify the challenges and obstacles encountered in assisting individuals and successful job placements

·      Provider (Employment / Transportation) Objective: To identify the primary obstacles and barriers encountered by job developers and job coaches in facilitating employment for individuals as well as contributing to the main reasons to job loss

·      Employer Objective: To gather insights from an employer’s perspective regarding the positive experiences encountered in hiring, the challenges faced during the recruitment process, and recommendations for improving the overall hiring experience

Speakers:

Scott Marks, Joined OPRA as the Director of Operations in the fall of 2019, before taking on the role of Vice-President in 2022. As VP, Scott advocates for the OPRA membership with legislative and executive partner agencies, as well as organizing and providing much of OPRA’s training offerings. He is also the staff liaison to the Day Array and Employment Service OPRA committees.


Scott holds a Masters of Social Work from The Ohio State University and has almost 20 years of human services experience including children’s services, transition supports and community employment services. He has a background in person-centered supports, community development, and strategic planning.  He has also founded and developed curriculum for music education classes for integrated children’s programming and taught Trauma-Informed Intervention Strategies at Columbus State Community College. Scott has spent much of the past several years training and working with provider agencies on various topics including ISP development, community connections strategies and person-centered planning. 


Scott lives in Granville, Ohio with his wife, Sarah, and their son, Oscar.
