| MEETING INFORMATION In the morning, we will be joined by Brian Frick, Director of Camp and Retreat Ministries, Presbyterian Mission Agency of the Presbyterian Church (USA). We look forward to hearing from Mr. Frick about camp ministries. In the afternoon, we will hear reports of Presbytery committees and attend to items of business.
Before the meeting, you are invited to watch the Overview of the Day: Highlights and What to Expect video, which will be posted on the presbytery website and emailed to participants no later than August 12. It is for all who would like to know more about the business of the day, but it is especially helpful for first-time attendees.
The Presbytery provides an opportunity to engage in mission at each in-person Stated Presbytery Meeting, with commissioners encouraged to bring an item designated by the host church to benefit one of its missions. For the August 17 Stated Presbytery Meeting, the church has requested deodorant and detergent for Harmony House, an organization seeking to end homelessness in the Huntington area through permanent housing and supportive service programs, along with acting as a collaborating body for multiple service agencies in the area.
Please remember that the presbytery no longer prints meeting packets except upon request. The packet will be emailed to those who receive our newsletter and posted on the presbytery website on August 7; you are strongly encouraged to download the packet in advance to view on your phone or tablet. Those who wish to print the packet are encouraged to print only those pages that are essential: worship, the docket, and the flyer section to share with your church. If you wish to request a printed packet from the presbytery, please contact the office by August 13.
The lunch menu for the meeting includes ham and turkey sandwiches with swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo and hickory honey mustard; veggie sandwiches (for those requesting the vegetarian option on the registration form), chips, and cookies . There will be drinks including water and coffee. Additionally, light refreshments will be available in the morning. The cost for lunch is $15. If you wish to pay by Paypal, you must go to the presbytery's homepage and click on the Donate button in the left-hand column. From there, you'll be taken to a Paypal donation page, where you can select PWV Meeting Lunch from the "Use this donation for" drop-down list. Otherwise, you may pay at the door with cash or a check made out to Highlawn Presbyterian Church.
Childcare is offered by reservation only; August 9 is the childcare deadline.
The deadline for advance registration is Friday, August 9 at 5 PM. It is important to register in advance so that lunch will be available for you.
