Course Description:

Virtual supervision has become a permanent part of behavioral health practice, creating new opportunities and new challenges for supervisors. This interactive 3-hour training equips clinical supervisors with practical tools and best practices for conducting ethical, engaging, and effective supervision in virtual environments. Participants will learn how to build connection and psychological safety remotely, structure productive virtual supervision sessions, manage documentation and compliance, address clinician wellness, provide difficult feedback virtually, and navigate tele-supervision ethics and technology concerns. The training blends clinical leadership, trauma-informed practice, and practical implementation strategies specifically designed for remote and hybrid behavioral health teams.

Course Objectives:

At the conclusion of this training, participants will be able to:

1. Identify best practices for conducting ethical and effective virtual clinical supervision.
2. Structure virtual supervision sessions to improve engagement, accountability, and clinician development.
3. Apply strategies to build rapport, psychological safety, and reflective practice in remote environments.
4. Utilize technology, documentation, and telehealth compliance practices appropriately within supervision.
5. Address burnout, isolation, compassion fatigue, and wellness concerns unique to remote clinicians.
6. Manage difficult conversations, performance concerns, and clinical risk issues effectively through virtual supervision

Featuring Julie Fleagle, MS, LCPC, Clinical Supervisor

Returning for Part III of her Clinical Supervision CE series, Julie is a licensed clinical professional counselor and certified professional counselor supervisor in the state of Maryland. She has been working in the mental health field for more than 20 years and currently co-owns Willow Tree Counseling Center, a group private practice in Maryland. In 2015, Julie started specializing in working with children as young as 3 years old and is now a sought-after child and family therapist.
