LCF is a public charity with 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status serving the residents of Lowndes County. We help everyone invest in the long-term well-being of our community and use our pool of charitable capital to fund local nonprofits and civic, educational, health, human services, and cultural activities that improve our quality of life.

Funding for LCF grants comes from the investment income earned by the foundation’s permanent endowment, which grows as tax-deductible gifts are made by individuals, organizations, and local businesses. This makes us a reliable and financially sustainable source of funding for the public good.

Since 2003, LCF has reinvested over $241,000 into our community, and our impact is growing. In just the last three years, LCF awarded a total of $94,670 in grants to projects ranging from the FORGE Foundation’s Career Expo and a new youth recreation center at the Columbus Air Force Base to renovations at the YMCA and support for food pantries and clothes closets.

We’ll also showcase the nonprofits we've supported in recent grants, and the winner of a special game of high stakes poker will designate a nonprofit of their choice to receive a special grant of $2,500.*

*High Stakes Poker Tournament open to High Roller and Royal Flush sponsors. To be eligible to receive the grant, nonprofits must be based in Lowndes County or must primarily serve Lowndes County through their mission and programs. Final award determination is subject to approval by the CREATE Foundation and LCF Boards.

Casino Night is all about playing games and raising money for charity! We've hired Bama Casino Company to provide professional dealers and an MC/DJ so that we can enjoy all the fun of Las Vegas while building LCF's endowment. Everyone receives playing chips, and additional chips can be purchased at the event, but nothing is exchanged for money at the end of the night. Instead, everyone—including those who don't play or who lose all of their chips—will get one ticket to a raffle, and those with more chips can get a few additional raffle tickets (capped at ten). Currently, donated prizes include six nights in a beachside condo on Hwy 30A , five nights in Cabo San Lucas, and a quail hunt at Fincher Farms!

Tickets are $100, and $40 is tax-deductible as a charitable contribution to LCF. The remaining $60 is for food, drink, and entertainment. Tickets include heavy hors d'oeurvres, one raffle ticket, $500 in playing chips, and two tickets to the cash bar (sponsored by Zachary's!).
