Many Protestant Christians think of salvation simply as something that happened "the hour I first believed." Paul, however, speaks of "salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and through belief in the truth" (2 Thess. 2:13). Wesley also understood that salvation was more than justification. God's saving work involved a transformation of our hearts and lives so as to become holy, righteous, and blameless in love. Together, we will explore the larger scope of the gospel and the importance of recovering the whole of this good news for the church and for the world. |
