| This Scholastic Chess Tournament is a rapid scholastic chess tournament for children in grades K-12. Medals will be awarded to the top players in each section. Join us for the fun and competition! Your entry to this event includes free ticket to watch the RIFC soccer game which takes place right after the tournament. TIME CONTROL: 4SS, G/10 d/3. SECTIONS: Two USCF-rated sections and one unrated section* --UNDER 1400 (rated section: USCF membership required**) --UNDER 700 (rated section: USCF membership required**) --UNRATED (no membership required)

NOTE: USCF membership must be purchased or renewed by March 12, 2026, if you plan on playing in a rated section. Medals will be awarded to the top three players in each section. Sections may be combined or split at the discretion of the tournament director. This is a 4-round tournament, but a small section may have to play 3. Full-point byes may apply in sections with an odd number of players, and ½ point byes are available in any round pending early notification to the tournament director. Please bring a chess clock if you own one.
ADVANCE REGISTRATION: Online entry fee $25. ONLINE ENTRY ONLY. Registration closes on March 12, 2026, at 11:59 PM or when we hit the capacity for the venue. Scholarships may be available if needed on a case-by-case basis. Southeast New England Chess Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
DOOR REGISTRATION: THERE IS NO DOOR REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT. ADVANCE REGISTRATION ONLY. Round 1 starts at 1pm. Others on completion of each round. Please arrive and check in between 12:30pm and 12:40:PM. Failure to check in by 12:40PM may result in receiving a bye for round one. Sections should all conclude by 3PM. Soccer match begins at 4PM.
IMPORTANT: Family and friends are encouraged to come and watch the chess match and stay for the soccer game. HOWEVER, each non-playing person who enters the stadium MUST have a ticket to the game.
