Courtroom Ready Clinicians: Preparing Clinicians for Confident Testimony

A very common occurrence for mental health clinicians is to receive a subpoena and immediately experience a jolt of their own mental and emotional reactions followed by a tidal wave of questions! This presentation will acknowledge those internal reactions as well as address some of those questions while gaining insight into how to prepare for that day in court.

Sarah Anderson, LPC, LCPC, LMHC, LPCC, CPCS, CPAS


Sarah Anderson is a licensed mental health professional with over a decade of clinical experience providing individual, family, and group therapy. She specializes in assessment, treatment planning, and working with complex populations, including individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders and those involved in the legal system. Sarah currently serves as a Clinical Supervisor, where she oversees staff development, ensures compliance with accreditation standards, and supports quality clinical care.

Licensed in multiple states, Sarah brings a broad, systems-informed perspective to her work and is actively involved in multidisciplinary collaboration, court advocacy, and clinical program development. She holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University and maintains several advanced credentials, including Certified Professional Counselor Supervisor, Certified Psychosexual Assessment Specialist, and Certified Custody Evaluator.

Course Completion and CE Information:

To earn CE credit, participants must be on time, sign in and sign out, attend the entire course and complete a course evaluation. This is a 2 hour course. Partial credit is not permitted. Must be present the full 2 hours to receive CE certificate. Certificates of completion will be emailed within 5 business days of course completion.


CE Statements:

Summit BHC, provider #2057, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 07/31/2025 - 07/31/2028. Social workers completing this course receive 2 clinical continuing education credits.
