| SENECA TEAMS OF 3 SCHOLASTIC CHAMPIONSHIP Saturday, March 30th at the Hilton Garden Inn 5 round G/25;d5. All sections are USCF rated and all players require a current USCF membership. Pairings are done as an individual Swiss tournament with team pairings on throughout. OPEN TO OUT OF STATE PLAYERS. Welcome to a new kind of chess tournament. You play as an individual but your results count towards your team which is ideally comprised of 3 players in your age group. And it can be ANY team of 3 players (school, club, family, or just friends). You just have to be a member of USCF player and in the same category of grade regarding your school year as your teammates: Elementary team players must be in grades k-5 Middle school players must be in grades 6-8 High school players must be in grades 9-12 A team is 1 to 5 players although only the top 3 scores by the teammates count towards the team total. Teams of 6 or more are not allowed as they should enter as two teams. Teams must consist of players from the same grade group, but they can be friends or go to the same club, no restrictions other than in the same category of grade. For each of the grade groups: 1st place trophies are awarded to each player on the winning first place team. 2nd place trophies are awarded to each players on the winning second place team. The top individual in each section gets a big medal. (note that the top individual may get both a team trophy and win the individual big medal for that section). Plus-score regular medals are given to all individuals who achieve a plus score but have not been awarded another prize (trophy or medal). ADVANCE REGISTRATION: Online entry fee $25. ONLINE ENTRY ONLY. Registration closes on March 28, 2024, at 11:59 PM or when we hit the capacity for the venue. Scholarships may be available if needed on a case-by-case basis. Southeast New England Chess Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. DOOR REGISTRATION: THERE IS NO DOOR REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT. ADVANCE REGISTRATION ONLY. Round 1 starts at 10:00 AM. Others on completion of each round.
Check-In Players must check in onsite between 8:45 AM and 9:15 AM. Failure to check in on time may result in not being paired in round one. Round Times Round 1 - 9:30 AM Round 2 - 11:00 AM Round 3 - 1:00 PM Rounds 4 & 5 - paired ASAP upon conclusion of previous round
