This two-day class is a wonderful intro to working with indigo- a dye like no other. On day one you will make an indigo vat, using indigo extract, ferrous sulfate and slaked lime.
Then students will dye 3 cotton bandanas using various stitching and folding techniques. Students may dye one piece of natural fiber clothing brought from home.
Students will need to bring an apron or smock, rubber gloves that will be dyed, a piece of clothing (optional) and a bagged lunch.
