Emergency Preparedness Workshop

A workshop to introduce the basics of emergency preparedness and the necessity for planning and practicing emergency response for a variety of situations that can affect water and wastewater utilities.

This 7 hour, 0.7 CEU online workshop is designed around the variety of emergencies that a water or wastewater utility may face. Segments will discuss:

  • Elements of an emergency response plan
  • Risk & Resilience
  • Communications with the Public
  • Business & Operational Continuity
  • WARNs
  • Incident Command System
  • Tabletop and Field Exercises
  • Personal Preparedness
  • Facility security
  • Cybersecurity

0.7 CEUs approved for water and wastewater operators in ID, OR & WA


Cost is $140 for individuals who are members of AWWA, WEF or PNCWA, or the organization they work for is a member. Non-member rate is $240.


Small Systems Scholarships available for utilities with less than 1,000 connections. Requires registration and payment. If you are one of the first 3 individuals to register, your registration fees will be refunded.
