This presentation introduces a four-tier framework for assessing earthquake-induced settlements, ranging from empirical liquefaction methods (Tiers 1-2) to advanced numerical simulations (Tiers 3-4). Applied to three sites affected by the 2023 M7.81 Pazarcık Earthquake, the framework shows that conventional free-field methods generally overestimate post-shaking reconsolidation settlements. Advanced partially drained and 3D soil-structure interaction analyses more accurately reproduced measured settlements and identified the governing settlement mechanisms. |
