Start Skydiving will host a USPA AFF-I Rating Certification Course conducted by John Hart from Sept 15th thru Sept 21st.

Candidates must meet the following requirements before attending the USPA AFF-I Rating Course:

• reached the age of 18 years 
• have held any USPA Coach or Instructor (IAD, SL, or tandem) rating for at least 12 months; OR have at least 500 jumps and currently hold any USPA Coach or Instructor rating (for any amount of time)
• have a current USPA C- or D-license 
• have six hours of freefall time logged with appropriate signatures
• Completely read through the AFF-I Rating section of the IRM (dated within the past two years)
• Completely read through all of Section 2-1, all of Section 4, all of Section 5, and all of Section 9-1 of the SIM (dated within the past two years)
• Correctly answered at least 80% of the 40 questions on the USPA General Instructor and AFF-Instructor Rating open-book Final Examinations found online here.
• Assisted in two complete AFF first-jump courses directly supervised by a USPA AFF-Instructor no more than twelve months prior to the AFF-I Rating Course start date (Start Skydiving conducts these nearly every Friday starting at 8 AM and the first Sunday of every month. Contact John Hart to arrange this if needed.)

All candidates must also bring all the following items with them to the USPA AFF-I Rating Course:

• Your logbook(s) with valid signatures for at least six hours of freefall time and proof that you are current within your license requirements
• Your USPA license card (must be at least a C-license and must not expire until after the course)
• Your in-date personal skydiving equipment
• Recommended equipment to bring include: a full-face helmet (a hardshell helmet is required), all of the jumpsuits that you own (a belly-flying jumpsuit with booties that allows for an average fall-rate is preferred), a weight belt (if you own one), RW gloves, at least one visual altimeter is required (if jumping with a digital altimeter, it is recommended to have an analog altimeter available as a backup in case the battery dies) at least one audible altimeter, and a freefly-friendly container with an AAD (an AAD is required)
• A printed or digital copy (on a laptop or tablet) of the SIM and IRM dated within the past two years
• A form of payment to pay the remaining course fee balance of $500 (cash is preferred and Burble funds cannot be used to pay the course fee), your jump slots, and any pack jobs 

The course will begin on Monday morning at 8:00 AM. We will meet in the main lobby by manifest at 8:00 AM each day and go until 6:00 PM or completion, whichever comes first. The following Monday may be used as backup days in event of poor weather on any of the other jump days.

A $150 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your slot. The remaining course fee of $550 is due at the start of the course (for a total of $700 per candidate). Each candidate will also need to cover about 21 full-price slots plus any pack jobs.
