This course prepares participants to be effective Field Training Officers (FTOs). Attendees will gain the skills to train new and lateral officers for general law enforcement duties. Topics include objectively evaluating and documenting performance, providing constructive feedback, applying remedial training, improving communication, maintaining ethical standards, and avoiding civil liability. Department approval required before registering. Required equipment: laptops. Digital lesson plan will be provided. Its strongly encouraged to bring Dept policy and FTO material. 40 Hours POST-approved. |
