The Four Senses of Holy Scripture
In the Parable of the Good Samaritan, a lawyer tests Jesus by asking, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus then asks him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” (Luke 10:26). How would we answer Jesus today? How do we read the Bible? The “four senses of Holy Scripture” is a good start towards an answer.
