Housing Options

Most campers choose to stay in a cabin with old or new friends for no extra charge. Bring your own towels, bedding, pillows and blankets or sleeping bag or pay $30 for linens as you register.  The mattresses are better camper grade but you may want to bring a bed board.

We plan to put 6-10 guys in each cabin. Each cabin has a common bathroom, central area and two partioned "counselor" areas. Outlets for phone charging are available. Be sure to notify us of your need for CPAP power at your bedside and bring an extension cord. Cabins are spacious and have no bunk beds.

There are also Deluxe housing options available as follows for an additional fee: Deluxe housing has twin beds with two men in a room and shared or private bathrooms. You may arrange for a specific roommate. There are a very few Deluxe singles.  Only some rooms are handicap accessible, so let us know your special needs. Bring your own towels, bedding, pillows and blankets or pay $30 for linens when you register. To request Deluxe housing, sign up on the Registration form and include the $160 Deluxe housing fee in your payment.

Scholar-in-Residence - Rabbi David Singer

CEO, Limmud North America

Rabbi David Singer

We are thrilled to have one of the rising leaders in America's Jewish world as our scholar-in-residence this year. Rabbi David Singer is a dynamic young Rabbi who leads the nationwide peer education group Limmud North America.

David Singer is a rabbi, educator and innovative Jewish professional who has been named by the Jewish Daily Forward as one of America’s Most Inspiring Rabbis.  He is currently the CEO of Limmud North America. Rabbi Singer previously served as Executive Director of UC San Diego Hillel where he dramatically increased student participation through innovative programming and robust leadership development. Before that, he was Associate Rabbi of Congregation Shearith Israel in Dallas, where he was the Director and Founder of Makom, a nationally-acclaimed young spiritual community, cultivated volunteer leadership, and piloted educational initiatives teaching Jewish thought and practice.

Rabbi Singer was ordained at the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at American Jewish University in 2012. He is a graduate of Clal’s Clergy Leadership Incubator and Rabbis Without Borders, and he studied history at the University of California, Berkeley.

Rabbi Singer is the author of many articles as well as “Yisrael Sheli,” a religious school textbook about Israel. David lives in Dallas, Texas, and is married to Danielle Rugoff, with whom he raises their son, Ezra.

Limmud North America enriches, empowers, and inspires Jewish communities through the transformative power of learning. At its core, Limmud exists to create the rare and necessary spaces where Jews can come together across difference — not to flatten disagreement, but to hold it with curiosity, generosity, and shared responsibility for our collective future. Limmud models a Jewish public square in which multiple truths can coexist, difficult conversations can unfold without fear, and disagreement does not preclude belonging.

And here are even more great reasons to attend the retreat this year:

  • Jody Kipnis - the founder of the Holocaust Museum Boston
  • Ben Aysan - from the Peace Islands Institute, a group of Muslim men looking to connect with the Jewish community
  • A live Mentalist
  • Jewish Jeopardy!

Thank you for being a Friend of the New England Region!

We look forward to seeing you at the NER Retreat!
