A Vision for the Future of Franklin Academy

A Note from the Head of School

Under the leadership of the first Headmaster, Fred Weissbach, our founding administration set forth on a bold path to reimagine education and transform the lives of those who learn differently. The outcomes are proof of their success. With over 450 college acceptances and thousands of students who have benefited from the Franklin educational model, we are entering a new phase of development and continuing to rethink what is possible in the scope of education for neurodivergent students. Over the next five years, we will focus on enhancing the student experience through four key initiatives:

Expanding Academic and Social Opportunities

Expanding academic and social opportunities by providing additional on and off-campus offerings driven by student passions, including animal sciences, musical theater, athletics, and civic engagement.

Designing Student-Centered Spaces

Designing student-centered spaces that strengthen programs and enhance the student experience. Priorities include sustaining the Franklin Farm, improving athletic facilities, upgrading technological platforms and instructional materials, developing a black box theater, and creating a music performance area.

Building a Residential Community

Creating a long-term campaign to build a residential community on Franklin Academy's back property, housing students and faculty, resembling the comfort and familiarity of small independent schools.

Providing Scholarships

Providing scholarship opportunities for students to make Franklin Academy more accessible and affordable for more families.

While my vision is audacious, our students and families deserve this and much more. We want to provide a traditional high school experience delivered in a nontraditional way so our students are prepared for a life that exceeds their goals and ambitions. As the next Head of School at Franklin Academy, I look forward to stewarding the resources necessary to realize this vision and showing the world that if you learn differently, you have a home at Franklin Academy.
