Teri Skoog

Founder/Owner, Skoog Dementia Support

Presentation - Gifts in Dementia

Teri has over 35 years’ experience providing education, support and care to individuals experiencing dementia,

caregivers, and communities. Teri received her BA in Social

Work and Aging Studies from the University of Iowa. She is a DAWN Dementia Care Coach/Trainer. In addition to her

professional credentials, Teri personally experienced the role of caregiver for her mother who lived and died with Diabetes, Alzheimer's Disease, and Vascular Dementia. Teri’s goal is to inspire a new way to think about dementia inclusivity and support through dignity, purpose, and hope.

There are often difficult conversations about the value of life and challenges associated with dementia,

but when we understand how to respond to the changing skills our friends and family members are

experiencing, we uncover gifts along the way. This presentation will share how a strength-based

approach brings hope and grace to the life of those experiencing dementia.
