Overview:
Have you ever walked into a meeting to solve a problem, only to witness conflict erupt as participants rush to a solution without fully understanding the problem? Jumping to solutions prematurely is a common issue in organizations, often leading to solving the wrong problem, wasting resources, and damaging team morale.
This 3.5-hour workshop focuses on helping individuals and teams avoid these pitfalls by learning to formulate the right problem before seeking solutions. Participants will gain insights into the biases and barriers that hinder effective problem-solving and will be introduced to proven processes that enable teams to solve the right problem the first time.
Presenter:
Dr. Jackson Nickerson, Edward Jones Dean of the Chaifetz School of Business, is a distinguished and internationally renowned scholar, professor, and consulting strategist. Prior to joining SLU’s Chaifetz School of Business, Dr. Nickerson was the Frahm Family Professor of Organization and Strategy (Emeritus) in Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.
