Janet Macunovich, professional gardener-author, planted and maintained landscapes for over 40 years in her home State (Michigan) and a dozen others. She continues to enjoy educating gardeners. You may have read one of her books (Caring for Perennials, Successful Perennial Gardening, Designing Your Gardens and Landscape, and others), subscribed to her webinars on GardenAtoZ.org or dropped in for one of the many free webinars posted there. She's also taught workshops and given hundreds of talks throughout the U.S. and Canada, to home gardeners and professionals, at conferences, botanical gardens, and through the school she ran from 1995-2008 (The Michigan School of Gardening). Her experience, curiosity, client projects and connections made it possible for Janet to branch out in the topics she presents, from her initial love -perennial gardening - to woody plants, rock gardens and edible gardens. Those who have attended her talks have said, "She gave so much practical information in plain terms with beautiful pictures... and it was fun!" 

Janet will be presenting two topics: 

Renovating the Older Garden:  A presentation for those who want to improve an existing garden or landscape. It's advice from designer-author Janet Macunovich's 40 years in making the tough decisions about existing plants and structures, finding new plants and features to match new needs, then arranging and planting it all for the best appearance and growth.  

Great Plant Combinations:  Here are suggestions for trees, shrubs and perennials that not only look great together for their seasonal colors but also for their combined forms, textures and foliage characteristics. Janet Macunovich presents and explains the genesis and site considerations of each group so you can use it as-is or keep the look and performance as you modify the combination.

Haley Spiteri is an accomplished Landscape Designer/Estimator with a degree in Plant Science, specializing in Landscape Design. Her unique blend of passion for environmental sustainability and innovative creativity is dedicated to delivering exceptional, multi-season designs for my clientele. She is also proud to have achieved 1st place at this year's National Collegiate Landscape Competition in the Computer Aided Design event, showcasing my commitment to excellence in this field.

Furthermore, we will discuss the pivotal factors that shape a successful design, including the artful balance of form, function, and personal style, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the creative and practical aspects of this dynamic field.
