Prevention through Design (PtD) is an emerging safety management technique in which the safety of construction and maintenance workers is explicitly considered during the design of a project. This presentation will summarize the PtD concept, provide examples from multiple construction sectors, and discuss the relevant portions of the ASCE & NSPE engineering codes of ethics.
