21st Annual CT-AIMH Spring Conference

2025

"Play is a child’s natural language of self-expression.” This presentation will explore the therapeutic powers of play, offering participants insight into how safe, consistent relationships create a supportive environment for families to use play as a means of processing inner experiences. We will discuss the history and guiding principles of non-directive play therapy approaches such as Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) and examine how these ways of being support Infant Mental Health (IMH) skills and strategies.
Target audience: CT-AIMH welcomes the many disciplines that contribute to relationship-focused work with infants and their families: early interventionists, early care educators, therapists, clinicians, home visitors, social workers, nurses, doulas, psychologists, physicians, and many more.
