This session examines the ethical and systemic failures behind the preventable death of Diana Aleman, a 27-year-old Venezuelan migrant in Peru, who was denied reproductive care due to a number of factors, including restrictive government policies. Panelists will explore how bioethics must confront structural violence and reproductive injustice impacting Afro-Latinx and Indigenous communities.
