National Prevention Summit 2027

Join us for the 14th Annual National Prevention Summit, brought to you by Drug Free America Foundation Inc. in collaboration with the Hillsborough County Anti-Drug Alliance.

Our primary objective is to raise awareness about the profound impact of substance use while equipping attendees with knowledge on reducing access, reshaping social norms, and stimulating conversations on current drug policies. The summit will concentrate on the effective implementation of prevention and recovery strategies and will provide communities with the tools needed to advocate for sound drug policies.

Opening Keynote

We are excited to welcome Laura Stack, founder of Johnny’s Ambassadors, as the opening keynote speaker for the 2027 National Prevention Summit. Following the tragic loss of her 19-year-old son, Johnny, Laura transformed her personal experience into a national mission to educate families and communities about the risks of today’s high-potency THC products. In her powerful keynote, The Dangerous Truth About Today’s Marijuana: Johnny Stack’s Life and Death Story, Laura will combine Johnny’s deeply personal story with research on adolescent brain development, mental health, psychosis, and suicide. Her presentation will challenge prevention professionals and community leaders to better understand today’s marijuana landscape and strengthen efforts to protect young people.

This year, we are excited to extend the National Prevention Summit with a free, half-day Advocacy Workshop on February 25: The Advocacy Lab: Building Your Voice in Drug Demand Reduction. This interactive workshop will equip participants with practical tools to communicate effectively with policymakers, strengthen advocacy messages, and turn prevention, treatment, and recovery expertise into meaningful action. Participants will leave with greater confidence and concrete strategies to elevate drug demand reduction priorities in their communities and beyond. The workshop is free for Summit attendees, but advance registration is required to reserve your spot.
