In the same way, through God’s love, our grief is transformed into a treasure, a gift of compassion, wisdom, and faith. For thirty years, Umbrella Ministries have walked beside mothers through the storm of loss, helping turn sorrow into strength and pain into pearls of grace. |

Joyce Godier
Following the death of her son, Paul, by suicide at age 26, Joyce became the first board member Umbrella Ministries founded by Daisy and Donna. She also lead the first support group in Coachella Valley and continues to host a monthly luncheon support group for grieving moms in her home. Joyce has served faithfully in many capacities with her incredible gifts and talents. She is a retired Certified Financial Planner (CFP), has been married for 60 years, and is the mother of one daughter and grandmother to twin grandsons. |

Vickie Bounting
In 2011, Vickie found Umbrella Ministries, where she discovered support that helped turn sorrow into strength and pain into pearls of grace. Inspired by Matthew 13:4546, she shares her journey to encourage others walking through child loss, reminding them that what feels broken can still hold great value in God’s hands. Through prayer, serving others, and ministry, she continues to walk in healing and renewed purpose. |

Marki Ribera
Markie is married to Carlos and has 7 beautiful children. Their older four; Kathryn, Kaleb, Kristian, and Kasper ran ahead to heaven as a result of a tragic accident in February of 2022. Grief persists, but The Lord continues to redeem their story through layers of blessing that would not be possible without the pain. Her pearls with the most luster are restored marriage, twin boys Klark and Kharis, baby Kyroo, and multiple ministry opportunities that have come as a result of her testimony. |

Jorie Gulbranson
Jorie Gulbranson is a devoted pastor's wife whose life reflects deep faith, compassion and resilience. Alongside her husband in ministry, she has faithfully served her church family with grace and encouragement. After the heartbreaking loss of her 23 year old daughter Marci, Jorie's walk with Christ has become an even stronger testimony of hope in the midst of sorrow. |

| ❤️LEARNING SIGN LANGUAGE Presented by Laura Baxter
In times of loss, it can be hard to express your feelings. This workshop offers a special way to honor your child’s memory by learning to sign their name in American Sign Language. We will also learn a simple song, an expression of love to your child and the Heavenly Father, as a way to draw close to the miracle God gave in the life of each child. This gentle space is meant to bring comfort, honor and even a touch of joy. |

We will explore companionship as a sacred, hard-won treasure, inviting participants to create a “companion stick” that helps them share their stories with courage and tenderness. Just as the pearl of great price is found through seeking and surrendering, our sharing circles use the stick to honor the priceless worth of each person’s grief, voice, and presence.
