DRUGS, DRUGS, DRUGS, and MORE DRUGS

This session will focus on educating individuals about several known and unknown substances on the market. Substances like Fentanyl, Fentanyl analogs, Nitazines, and research chemicals like bath salts, spice, etc., appear to be new, but they have long and complex histories. Information about current use patterns and trends to ground understanding in the data, not opinions or fear-based rhetoric, will be offered. This includes information that can allow an introspective look at socialized beliefs that the war on drugs can control drug use. In addition, it will further how good education can save lives.


DON'T GET STUCK ON VICARIOUS TRAUMA. FOCUS ON VICARIOUS HEALING.

Many of us are aware of vicarious trauma or compassion fatigue. But what if we can better serve our clients by caring for ourselves? This presentation will review the symptoms of burnout and compassions fatigue and further addresses the need for healing ourselves to serve our clients better. The session will providing language to understand this is not about the quality of the provider but the nature of our work.
