2026 State of the City

It’s no joke. The City of Avondale Estates is ready to celebrate the 2026 State of the City address, and you’re invited! Join Mayor Jonathan Elmore, the city commissioners and city staff on Wednesday, April 1, at 6 p.m. at the Avon Theater (106 N Avondale Road) as we celebrate all the City has accomplished and what’s ahead.

We’re going to kick off the festivities with a ribbon-cutting for the North Avondale Complete Street Project at the newly revised Dewey Brown Plaza across from City Hall.

And in the spirit of fun, we’re leaning into April Fool’s Day with comedian Emily Holden, who will MC our event and add a little humor.
