Peer to Peer Webinar: Unlicensed AL Conversation with MDoA

Join us for a virtual conversation with the Maryland Department of Aging as they gather valuable input to help inform recommendations to the State on issues related to unlicensed assisted living facilities and affordable care options in Maryland.

This discussion is open to all members of MD-MADS and the LifeSpan Network and will be led by Leslie Ray, Community Client Services Director, and Isabella Shycoff, Director of Policy at the Maryland Department of Aging.

Purpose

This interactive hour long webinar is tailored for LifeSpan and MD-MADS provider members aiming to:

  • Better understand the issue of unlicensed Assisted livings in Maryland.
  • Learn about the progress of Longevity Ready Maryland and how it intersects with the unlicensed AL issue in Maryland.
  • Provide feedback with MDoA as they prepare a report on supporting small assisted living communities and providing affordable senior care to underserved populations.

— MD-MADS and LifeSpan Members share their insights on what they are seeing in their every day work (ex: roadblocks to licensure and complying with the regulations, affordable care of residents, how they experience unlicensed ALs they in your work, etc.)

10:55 - 11:00 AM Next Steps

— How can we continue to support the Department with their report and information gathering?
