MKM's vision is to improve the lives of all children in the community by giving them access to mindfulness skills that reduce stress and anxiety, develop attention and focus, promote emotional regulation and impulse control, teach empathy and compassion, and create a sense of well-being.

Mindful Self-Compassion Short Course (MSC-SC) is an empirically supported 9-hour, 6-session psychoeducational group intervention that teaches how to treat ourselves like our friends. Offering mindfulness, self-kindness, and a common sense of humanity, MSC-Short Course enhances feelings of well-being, balance, and positivity during every day and the most challenging moments in life.

Created by Dr. Kristin Neff and Dr. Christopher Germer, the MSC-Short Course offers adults the opportunity to cultivate compassion and lovingkindness toward themselves when suffering occurs through informal mindfulness and mindful self-compassion practices.

Who should attend this workshop? Anyone interested in exploring and strengthening their relationship with themselves and building emotional strength and resilience through cultivating kindness and self-compassion would benefit from attending this program. This program is presented in an abbreviated structure to accommodate those available for a shorter time commitment.
