A community-based volunteer organization founded in 1891 to support the welfare of the community, the Woman’s Club of Kenosha is an ornate jewel in the heart of Downtown Kenosha. Kathy Herr, past president will talk about its founding members, the General Federation and review their historical scrapbooks. Afterwards we’ll tour the Simmons Neighborhood Library, constructed in 1900 and designed by Daniel Burnham in the neoclassical style. It boasts a mix of modern technology with classic architecture and possibly a spirit or two. |
