1889 - JC Walker Brothers is founded on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, beginning a family tradition in seafood. Early 1900s - Generations of Walkers operate fish traps and oyster packing houses, building expertise in coastal waters. 1980s - Brothers Tom and Wade Walker begin cultivating Seaside Brand clams. At the time, clam farming was experimental and widely doubted. Through years of persistence and trial and error, JC Walker Brothers achieves consistent harvests by the late 1980s.
